Monday, July 11, 2016 TCS upgrades NASA Armstrong's COMM2 Antenna System by performing a complete pedestal overhaul. The system was disassembled, repainted, lubricated, and had all existing seals and hardware replaced. A new Pedestal Interface Unit was added and connected to a new Antenna Control Unit-M1L. The ACU-M1L is running Red Hat Linux and takes slave data from the NASA Armstrong RIPS data system.
A new camera and slip ring were also included into the upgrade.
